Year 4 and 5 children have the opportunity to explore the outdoor environment and use it as a learning tool. They participate in a variety of activities that teaches them skills for the outdoors. Some of the activities are:
Aspects of conservation
Fire safety, practiced when they build their own fires and cook sausages
Each year students from Year 6 attend camp at Guthrie Smith Outdoor Education Centre, Tutira. Camp is usually held in October.
There are plenty of activities at camp to challenge the students and the experience is thoroughly enjoyed.
Students fund raise throughout the year with things like our beginning of year Carnival and raffles etc.

Each year the Year 6 students have the opportunity to experience sailing over at Ahuriri. A small cost is involved.
Beach Education is available on alternative years from year 3 up.
Visiting performers are arranged intermittently at a small cost that support various curriculum areas.
